Every morning continental breakfast will be served for all our guests. Wide choice of cold cuts, fresh croissants, eggs and fruits will be available
Together with your English speaking guide you will explore in detail one of the most important cities in Italy for richness of culture and artefacts. Middle Age period is when Florence entered the status of free city challenging with the neighbouring city-states like Siena for the control of Tuscany. A great philanthropist like Lorenzo De Medici opened the city to painters, writers and philosophers contributing to what nowadays we call Renaissance (re-birth) of human arts. The city is an open-sky museum and walking it will give you the feeling of a jump into the same epoch when Michelangelo lived
The greatest for size and importante of all churches in Florence the Basilica is a masterpiece of the Renaissance period in terms of architecture and for the treasures held into it. Projected by Dominican monks, the church holds the secret of Florence as city-state. Not-to-be-missed
Piazza del Duomo, which has always been the religious, historical, and artistic center of the city is the next location you are going to visit. Reachable by foot the square holds the same charme of more than 500 years ago when Florence was the New York of the times
Have you ever heard of Fiorentina stake? The story of the stake is old as the city itself: 1 kg of italian beef grilled on bed of salad and fries. For lesser gourmands the soups with mushrooms or truffles are highly recommended, or the delicacy pappa al pomodoro (crumbled bread mixed with delicious tomato soup and fresh herbs). Please ask your Sweet Travel Italy assistant where to enjoy a delicious meal on this excursion day. Lunch is not included in the tour price
The cathedral dedicated to Santa Maria del Fiore, designed by Arnolfo di Cambio is the third largest church in the world, after St. Peter's in Rome and St. Paul's in London. The church marbles are exquisitely chiselled giving the feeling of purity and peace from outside. The interiors are simple and geometric, typical of those times when it had been erected. A perfect example of mix between architecture and holiness of Renaissance period built by the genius of Filippo Brunelleschi in the 15th century. Beautiful is the inner octagonal ceiling painted with more then 700 figures representing angels and puttos
Together with your Sweet Travel Italy assistant you will drive to the other side of Arno river up to a sightseeing location where to admire Florence from an unexpected perspective. It is a great chance to take memorable pictures of your italian trip

The Gallery includes paintings from 13th century to 18th century. It was founded in the Buonsignori and Brigidi Palaces in 1932. The original nucleus of the gallery came from the passion and work of two erudite Sienese, Abbots Giuseppe Ciaccheri and Luigi de Angelis, who collected paintings between 1750 and 1810 by the most significant Sienese artists
The church is dedicated to Saint Dominicus but inside it holds many relics of Catherine from Siena, saint of the 13th century who came from Siena and canonized by the Vatican in 15th century

Every morning continental breakfast will be served for all our guests. Wide choice of cold cuts, fresh croissants, eggs and fruits will be available
Many guests love San Gimignano because of its silhouette, which stands out against the picturesque landscape, because of the fantastic location on the top of the hill and because of the charm that it spills. You will also draw in its spell and enjoy the stunning view in the plain. The high art has left visible traces: in the Collegiata Santa Maria Assunta you can admire the magnificent frescoes of the Old and New Testaments. Later on, you reach a Fattoria nearby, to taste homemade specialties and Tuscan wine. In the afternoon, visit the monastery of San Galgano. The building is unique because it is the first time in Tuscany to find stylistic elements from the Gothic period. But there is another special feature, and we hear the legend of King Arthur and the sword in the stone in the Rotonda di Montesiepi
Together with your Sweet Travel Italy assistant and the English speaking guide explore the town of "hundred towers". Collegiata Santa Maria Assunta is one of the local churches that you do not want to miss. On its walls entire representations of the Bible in frescoes are simply stunning. The historic Centre of San Gimignano is a Unesco World Heritage Site. The town also is known for saffron, the Golden Ham, pecorino cheese and its white wine, Vernaccia di San Gimignano, produced from the ancient variety of Vernaccia grape which is grown on the sandstone hillsides of the area
Our minivan will take you the a nearby farmhouse to enjoy some local delicacies. Fattoria Poggio Alloro, located 5 minutes from San Gimignano is our choice for today's lunch. Here you will experience organic food, chianti wine in a uncontaminated frame of nature and peace of mind
Who has heard of King Arthur's myth and the sword in the rock? Well, it really exists and it is located in this remote corner of Tuscany region. After the lunch reach with our minivan San Galgano Abbey. A forgotten, solitary and decadent cathedral in the middle of nowhere. And it's here that the story of King Arthur truly begins...
The Abbey was first started in 12th century and for a certain period flourished under the control of Siena city-state. Nevertheless a weakened control started already in the 14th century. By mid 17th century only the abbot was staying there and the place went into ruin by 18th century. Nowadays it has been rediscovered for its mysterious look and the story of a sword. Many have tried, no one has ever taken it

The abbey church of Sant'Antimo appears in front of us in a small valley surrounded by fields, olive trees and slopes of broom, clear, simple, and romantic - one of the most beautiful sacral rooms in Tuscany. According to ancient legend, the abbey was founded by Carlo Magno, who, returning from Rome with his followers along the Via Francigena, he stopped to rest and escape the plague in the Starcia valley. The Emperor stayed there until the threat of plague was over, and to give thanks, he founded the Abbey of St. Antimo. Perfect example of romanic style, the visit of this abbey will surprise you in may different ways
Montalcino is located on the Via Francigena: a route that during the Middle Age connected England to Rome. Pilgrims from half Europe used to travel on this road to reach Rome, the capital of Christianity. The town of Montalcino has developed since then and it keeps the same style all over. Climb the city walls or walk around the main square.
